Data sources
Where an outline comes from
Address lookup combines public services. Each provider's data is used as published and is not checked by us against the real building.
U.S. Census Bureau: address geocoder and TIGERweb boundaries. U.S. federal government works in the public domain.
City of Austin: address locator, appraisal parcels, 2023 planimetric survey and building permit records. The City publishes its data for informational use only, it may differ from official City records, and the City assumes no liability for decisions made from it.
Texas Geographic Information Office (TxGIO) StratMap: statewide address points, land parcels and building footprints. Parcels are compiled by contractors from county appraisal district files and are not survey grade and should not be used for legal purposes.
Google Maps: a link may open the address in Google Maps. No Google map data is copied into a diagram.
Forms
The Texas Department of Agriculture publishes the Wood Destroying Insect Report (Form SPCS/T-5). The wording of the diagram instruction and the marker codes are quoted from that public form so a diagram can be attached to it. The department has not reviewed or endorsed this app.
Nothing here is a survey
Parcel, footprint and address data in this app are not a survey and do not show legal boundaries. Only a Texas registered professional land surveyor can determine a boundary.
